Authentication

Authentication is the process that verifies the user's identity.

• Sign in : To use the app you need to enter your credentials (username and password used to create your BuildingHow account) to the authentication transaction dialog.
  
  Apparently, this type of authentication requires the user to be online. Authentication service is secure as hosted on Microsoft Cloud.


• Hardware key : Authentication is handled by a properly programmed hardware key (HASP), delivered to you.

Authorization

Authorization is the process that defines the features available to the user.

• Educational license: Includes all features of the professional license, except for the maximum number of floors, limited to 4, and the maximum number of vertical components per floor, limited to 12.


• Professional license: All features are available. The maximum number of floors is limited to 18. For additional floors please contact our support team.

Authorization services are hosted on Microsoft Cloud, for the Sign in authentication type.

Validity Period

Defines the period the user is allowed to use the app. Applicable only to the Sign in authentication type. Otherwise it is unlimited.

• Educational license : 24 months
• Professional license : 1, 6, 12 or 24 months

Version X

Defines the major release of the app. The user is entitled to all minor releases (X.Y) without charge.

For any newer major release, upgrade is required at a special price.
